Wild horses won’t be able to drag you away from the New Forest once you’ve experienced its serenity and fallen in love with its picturesque glades, ancient woodlands, open moors, heathlands, and cliff-top walks. Designated as a national park in 2005, the New Forest was originally a royal hunting ground for William the Conqueror. Spanning an area of 566 square kilometers, it comprises vast expanses of unspoiled woodland, heathland, and river valleys. Today, deer, ponies, and cattle continue to roam freely across its historic heaths and woodlands, while clear rivers and shady groves offer a tranquil escape.
